Assessing the Canadian Content on CFL Teams Heading into the 2015 CFL Draft
by Dan McLaughlin aka Childress
When it comes to the CFL draft, an essential component is each team's evaluation of their own roster to determine its areas of strength and weakness. This certainly comes into play when a team is making selections. Sometimes a team will select the best player available, but often their are choices that are very close, and a good team will then look to fill a need rather than stockpile another player to an area of strength.
The first part of my analysis looked at the plain numbers. How many players does each team carry at each position, and what are the league averages. Now every team has their own philosophy as far as where they deploy their Canadians, but sometimes when their number at a certain position deviates from the league average substantially, it may indicate that more depth is needed or that is a position of substantial depth already.
The numbers I have included on my chart were based upon the rosters posted on CFL.ca on March 19, 2015.

To do a full analysis of each team requires more than these numbers. Click on the following links to see the full analysis of each team's Canadian content. I will continue to add team analysis as I complete them.
